Environmental health is an integral part of Trees and Pixels, after all half, of the company’s name is synonymous with being ‘Green’. The following is a list of ways that we try to better the planet while reducing our impact. There could be better ways (and I would love to hear them). We might make mistakes, but one thing is certain, we will always strive to Make a better World.

Day-to-day company activities

• Monitor energy usage, tracking consumption.
• Use power only during the day from renewable resources (currently solar panels)

Travel

• In the event of a plane, offsetting 3 times emissions created (see Partnerships)

3rd party technology/services

• Using Greener options where available:
  • Web hosting via Green Web
  • Our default superannuation fund is Future Super
  • Our bank is Bendigo Bank
• Not using power hungry technologies:
  • Not using AI. Aside from being ethically questionable, the energy consumption required is huge. The Verge Article

Partnerships

• Any emissions we cannot eliminated we offset by 3x with the Aboriginal Carbon Foundation
• We donate a portion of game proceeds to an environmental organisation (organisation may change from game to game)
